I feel passionately that good inclusive design should one of the key criteria in sustainable design. It frustrates me that so often sustainability is talked about in terms of ‘eco’ design and energy saving in isolation.
A zero energy building that doesn’t meet the needs of the users, cannot adapt or is prohibitively expensive is just not sustainable – it needs to be a holistic process.
